The Baileigh DG-500 steel disc grinder is built to last and uses only the highest manufacturing processes. This grinder's 20" steel disc rotates at 1,100 RPM. The DG-500 features a cast iron base and work table to reduce vibration. A heavy column further increases the rigidity and ensures the smoothest grinds. The work table on this disc grinder features an easy-to-use hand wheel chamfer adjustment that allows the operator to chamfer up to 45 degrees. The entire work on this grinding machine table can be moved up or down the column via a hand wheel adjustment as well. Unlike a lot of the competition, the DG-500 disc grinder has a powerful 2-HP motor that requires 220 volts of single-phase power, so it can work in almost any fabrication or machine shop.
Strong, reliable 2-HP motor sets Baileigh's grinders apart from the competition
Easy-to-use hand wheel chamfer adjustment lets you position the chamfer up to 45° vertically
Entire worktable can be moved up or down the column via hand wheel adjustment
Convenient dust port hooks up to any shop vacuum and helps with shop cleanup
Cast iron base and worktable reduce vibrations
Heavy-duty column further increases rigidity and ensures the smoothest grinds
Significant improvement from my old 12” sander.Very quiet motor. Spins up fast.Really well-balanced wheel - so well balanced it takes a couple of *minutes* to spin down! (Unless you speed it up by pressing something into the sanding disc, of course). The base was drilled (and threaded, weirdly) for quite small (3/8” maybe?) hold-down bolts. I drilled them out to 9/16 so I could use 1/2” Tapcon concrete bolts. But the base is iron - super easy to drill out. And I’d much rather have the base holes too small than too large.Note: does not come with a plug wired on (which is pretty typical of larger machines). So make sure you either order what you use or plan to hard wire it in.Overall, very please with my purchase.
