Four Key Grinding Surfaces Contact Wheel Grinding As the most used grinding surface, the serrated rubber contact wheel provides a cushioned grinding surface and makes grinding and polishing very controllable and smooth. Great for rounding corners, deburring tubing, and other general purpose grinding applications. Platen Grinding The top platen provides a sturdy backstop for straightening or truing long edges, as well as sharpening or profiling applications. Slack Belt Grinding Slack Belt grinding is a method of belt grinding or polishing where no backing is used behind the belt. Suitable for round and contoured work, slack belt grinding can be performed on the underneath side of the belt opposite the platen. Disc Grinding Disc grinding is well suited for shaping and general deburring work, in addition to beveling, and squaring.
