Old 10 year old Miele CM died, after looking at their product line, this was the closest to what we had.Lets start with the bad...1] The display is angled for 8 year olds. On the counter I have to stoop to read the display as it is 90 degrees to the floor and very difficult for me to read without stopping. Its bright and not a contrast problem -- it is just ergnomincally not ideal. My wife who is shorter than I am says it doesn't bother her.2] The navigation is not friendly to buttons. The old CM had a dial and a button -- it was easy to scroll up and down to get to the menu item I wanted. This combined with the ergo unfriendlyness made it very easy to start a milk cleaning cycle when intending to rinse.3] The milk cleaning cycle --- on you start it...it can't be interrupted. Even a hard power cycle does not return you to starting position. Perhaps becuase the cleaning agent is toxic and they want to ensure you don't drink it? I'm sure thats the reason. The milk cleaning cycle is also demanding where adding too much or too little water will cause it to error and you have to start over. I am guessing this is the reason for the high degree of low reviews.I'm really not sure how this didn't get caught in focus groups and user testing. These 3 features are a "toxic" combination4] The bean hopper is in a terrible place. Its hard to fill with beans when its on a counter, at least herein the US we usuauly have upper and lower cabinets. To fill the bean hopper I have to pull the unit out from under the 'upper' I'm not sure how to fix it...its a limitation of gravity feed. The Good:The apperance is pleasant -- being white, it is not a dark appliance that is a big black hole like our old unit. It also has LED lights which brighting things even more. Its pleasant to look at on the counterThe bean hopper and water tank are nicely sized. A morning of 'brew' does not take additional tanks for my wife and I who are both seriously addicted to caffein. The drinks produced are good -- very good. I like them in fact better than the coffee shop down the street. Well done. Its quiet - much quieter than our older unit. You can hear it but the grinding is the most noisy part of the brew process, and it is still quite quiet.Suggestions:- Make profile changes easier. See by complaints...yet another User Interface problem.- Make some of the buttons presets -- like a car radio. I really don't need tea settings, and like not espresso. Let me choose what the buttons do. For the price, a full size touch screen should be quite possible. Really --- they are not that expensive and would have removed most of my frustration in the first 48 hours of ownershipI had the previous model: CM6350 for a little over 4 years. It made 10K + drinks over that time and gave me some trouble but not too much. The coffee shoot got plugged and I had to disassemble the machine to clean it. The brewing unit after a while got more and more difficult to install back in the machine after cleaning it and eventually broke which precipitated the need to repair or replace - which I did. It always made warm instead of hot milk which annoyed me to no end.Milk perfection advertising is what attracted me to the new CM 6360 model but it is far from it. My old machine only gave me luke-warm milk when hot milk was called for and nobody could tell me how to make it hotter. I saw a couple of reviews that said that this one made hotter milk but that is not so. This machine also only makes luke-warm milk and I don't know how to make it hotter. Three calls to Miele customer service have not given me an answer. I hate having to microwave my beverage when milk is called for. It can make super hot coffee so that compensates for some of the luke-warm milk but it is still an unsatisfactory solution. However, it is as good or perhaps slightly better at making a great coffee as my old machine. I like the pre-brewing step for the drinks if you choose to use it - it gives a more flavorful coffee using the same or less amount of beans. I had thought of returning it but decided to keep it in the end. Am I happy with it? Yes. Would I buy it again under the same circumstances? No. I should have repaired and kept my 6350. The new machine is not worth the expense.Update: It's only been a couple of months since I bought this machine and the milk froth maker has failed! I have yet to call Miele support to try to get it repaired but OMG! how unreliable can this be? I've read other negative comments from people who's machine broke down immediately after purchase but I expected more - much more from my new machine. I will continue to update this as I go through the process of getting it repaired.Pros:-Great hot coffee and milk-based beverages. It starts up fast and has a nice LED light.-With the onboard screen or the app, you can customize your amount, flavor, tastes, etc, basically everything about the drink-Setup for being very energy efficient from the factory, turns itself off after a set amount of time (we've upped this because it was 20mins)-Holds a decent amount of water, more than lesser models in the Miele line-Long time between cleaning cycles with tablets or liquids, however you do have to clean it every day if you use it.Cons:-For any double drinks (which are most of our drinks), it has to brew coffee twice in two different steps. I've used other machines and for a double drink, the other machines just brew more at one time and so they are much quicker.-Occasionally, even from the first time we used it, when making a milk-based drink instead of grabbing milk from the container, it will just go crazy and make a bunch of milk steam. It's even happened right after we ran it through a milk tube cleaning cycle. It's almost enough to make consider having it services because it happens about 25% of the time making a milk-based beverage. You have to make the drink over again.-The app setup process kept failing when actually adding the device to a profile. After about 4 days of trying it finally worked.Overall, we do love the machine. We don't need a full coffee maker to make a pot at a time and we don't want the waste of a cup-style instant coffee maker so this works well and it was a nice splurge on ourselves. So far so good. We had a Miele built in before, so we were already sold on it. We’ve only had it a few months, so nothing has gone wrong so far. The price is high for a coffee maker, but you do get a lot of coffee drink options, and I did not want to take a chance on a brand I didn’t know. The 6360 overall is fairly user friendly-although I find the profiles for each person a bit confusing to create. This machine rinses ALOT! If you don’t mind, dumping the drip tray and coffee pucks continuously-(basically you get used to the constant daily maintenance). It’s a fantastic coffee system.I always seem to be filling the water container (frustrating)!!I think the way to go is just to get a built in Miele Coffee System and it would make life easier or jump up to the 7750 -(not sure if that would make anything easier)Otherwise-for a modest $2,800 it makes a great product! As the other reviewer, it is stuck in descaling mode.I have only made 6 coffees. Called customer service and they couldn't even find the serial number. They were willing to send a service tech, but as the other recent reviewer i was afraid the problem will happen again. For a product this expensive, this is unacceptable. Miele test your products.
