It is just what I needed! My previous grinder was the type where you hold down the button to grind and just pray/guess/check to see if the grind comes out right. In this one, I put the beans in, select the approx number of cups for the amount of beans I put in, and push the button, and voila! Works perfectly! The grind comes out exactly correct. As for the sound, well, it's probably best not to do it while someone else is sleeping, but otherwise it is really not at all a big deal. It's the typical sound of a grinder (one that you haven't paid a hundred or more for). Considering that even for the max amount of beans, the time of grinding is maybe 20 seconds. Don't know about you, but for 20 seconds I ain't spending triple-plus for something quieter. It's not that bad or important, at least for me!The only possible 'con' is that the top part that you turn anti-clockwise to take off to empty the grounds is a bit tricky to do at first. Once you get the hang of it, it's fine. But the first time is a bit of a struggle. (But don't give up! It does get better. ? )
