I bought this lens to use mainly for portrait photography. When I need better photoes for my drawings and some landscape/holiday shooting... I just tried it out and I must say,if you hesitate to buy this lens - no worries,just buy it,if you are an average photographer as me. Pros might have other expectations - but higher expectations often cost another zero at the end..This lens is a bargain at this price .And used with a tripod,it is a manual focus lens,you will get excellent results.. And saving a couple of grand..The lens is small,use it on my new sony a6000,perfect fit in fit in my pocket. Compared with my kitlens,this lens opened another world in sharpness. I just shot a few pictures so I will come back if something change in the future.The lens is solid built,nice focus ring and the low light F1.8 will be nice to try out at night in low citylight.Mike
