After using a hand crank saucer for years, I really wanted to love this. We process tons of tomato sauce and applesauce every year, and hoped that this would make the process quicker and easier. If it had worked properly, it would have been perfect, but unfortunately, the cheap materials and craftsmanship broke the first time I used it. I followed all the directions and assembled it properly, but a small piece of the plastic auger broke off during the saucing and ended up at the end of the screen, causing more of the plastic to warp and break. I didn't realize what happened until we finished the batch of tomatoes, so we had to do an extra step of straining the sauced tomatoes to make sure there were no bits of plastic in our food!We will be returning immediately, as I have no faith that replacement parts will work any better than the one that broke - the plastic parts are poor quality, and as others have noted, the seam on the metal screen seems like it could split at any moment. Will definitely be looking at other saucer attachments for my KitchenAid, as the concept is very promising if made properly.Edit: I have adjusted my rating to 3 stars, as the customer service is excellent! The seller reached out right after my review posted, and asked to send a replacement set, which arrived within a few days. I am looking forward to giving this new set a try and will provide another update soon.
